Observed a bear slowly walking north along the river-management road (the road on top of the embankment). The bear noticed a small pickup truck that came from the south and slowly entered the riverside brush. The river area is unmanaged and the brush is thick, so it was impossible to determine how the bear moved after that. The bear’s body length appeared to be about 1.4 m.

Yokote construction firm Hasshin Kensetsu used a drone equipped with an infrared camera to survey bear habitat and captured footage this spring of three bears believed to be a parent and two cubs. The drone detects heat signatures and is used for locating bears in forests and investigating sites of human-bear incidents.
