Around 7:00 PM on October 29, on a municipal road in Nozawa, Nishiaizu Town, an 18-year-old male high school student walking home observed a bear about 1 m crossing the road from west to east. The bear then ran to the east into the forest.

Around 9:00 PM on October 6, on a municipal road in Nozawa, Nishiaizu Town, a cyclist observed a bear about 1 m loitering on the road. The witness U-turned on the spot, and the bear’s subsequent whereabouts are unknown.
