Around 12:35 on January 14, a man in his 40s driving a car spotted a single bear about 0.5 meters long crossing a town road in Yanaba Kamikō, Aizumisato Town, Fukushima Prefecture. No human or property damage was reported, and the bear's subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

At around 18:27 on the 6th, a roughly 1-meter-long bear fell from a persimmon tree on the grounds of a residence in Yoshida (Muranouchi), Aizumisato Town. The bear ran off to the east; no injuries were reported, and police are warning nearby residents to be cautious.
