On November 27, 2025, shortly after 16:00, a single bear about 0.5 meters long was sighted near the village hall area in Shimoseki, Sekikawa Village. Staff discovered the bear about 200 meters from the hall; it then entered the bushes and the village has warned residents to be cautious.
