On Thursday, June 18 at approximately 5:30 PM, in a field in Nagao-michi, Tsurunobe, Aizumisato Town, a witness (male, in his 30s) walking his dog observed two bears emerge from the brush in the field (approximate body lengths: about 1 m and about 50 cm). The subsequent movements of the bears are unknown.

Around 16:00 on January 22, a man in his 50s sighted a single bear about 1 meter long on private residential grounds in Suzumerin, Aizumisato Town (Aza Kamikashiji). No human or property damage was reported; police are conducting patrols and public announcements in coordination with the town office.

Around 17:00 on January 1 in Suzubayashi (Shinmidomichishita area), Aizumisato Town, Fukushima Prefecture, a man in his 70s driving a car spotted two bears about 0.5 meters long in the brush. No human or property damage was confirmed. Police are conducting patrols and public information activities in cooperation with the Aizumisato Town office to warn residents.
