A teenage boy on the way home from school sighted one bear, about 1.5 meters long, in a pasture area in Daito, Dakeonsen, Nihonmatsu City.

Around 3:18 PM on February 28, near Nagata, Ninomatsu City, within a national forest along Prefectural Route 386 (Dake Onsen Line), a witness (a woman in her 40s) observed one bear while jogging, crossing the prefectural road from north to south. Afterwards, the bear entered the forest to the south and disappeared from view.

Around 10:30 AM on October 24, on a prefectural road within Nagata-Nagasaka National Forest near Nihonmatsu City, a female in her 50s driving observed a bear about 50 cm crossing the road. The bear then left into the woods.
