Around 19:30 on Dec 12, a fixed camera near houses in the Toyama district of Asaminami Ward, Hiroshima City recorded one Asian black bear climbing a persimmon tree. The area includes elementary and junior high schools and a community center.

On November 12, 2025, Hiroshima City confirmed bear-like traces at two locations (west and east) in the Ado area of Numata-cho, Asaminami Ward. A broken persimmon tree and droppings in a parking lot were found, and both are considered likely to be from a bear.
