On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 7:20 p.m., in the area of Nanatsumori, Bandai, Bandai-machi, a female witness driving on a town road sighted one bear (approximately 50 cm in body length). The bear then crossed the town road from the sighting location and left into the grove of scrub trees to the south.

On Wednesday, May 20 at around 5:00 PM, on a town road in Enhei area, Sarashina, Bandai Town, a witness driving eastbound on the town road observed one bear (approximately 70 cm in body length) crossing the road from left to right and then entering the forested area on the right side of the road.

While driving a vehicle, the witness observed one bear (approximately 0.8 m in body length) crossing the main prefectural road from north to south. The bear left heading south into a rice paddy on the south side of the main prefectural road.

Around 15:00 on April 11, 2026, a single bear about 80 cm long was sighted crossing a prefectural road (Major Local Road Inawashiro-Shiogawa Line) north to south in Sarashina, Bandai Town, Fukushima. The bear went into rice fields on the south side of the road and its whereabouts are unknown; no injuries or property damage have been reported. Police have shared information with the town, are patrolling the area by patrol car, and have urged residents to be cautious.
