Around 12:50 p.m. on March 29, at the Asahikawa-Monbetsu Expressway near Shirataki IC in Engaru, Hokkaido, a brown bear approximately 1.7 meters long was filmed slipping under the median and crossing the road. The bear glanced at the filmer, moved to the roadside, and no collisions were reported.
