Around 16:00 on March 15, 2026, one bear was sighted near the south-side walkway of Hakusandai Park in Kita-Shirayamadai, Hachinohe. No injuries or damage were reported, and the city is urging people to follow safety precautions if they encounter a bear.

At about 16:15 on November 4, a single bear was sighted on a city road roughly 200 meters northwest of the Chuo Danchi bus stop in Korekawa, Hachinohe. No injuries or damage were reported, and the city urged people to quietly leave the area and avoid provoking the animal.
