At around 05:45 on April 14, 2026, a hospital staff member sighted one bear about 2 meters long in the woodland roughly 20 meters west of Miyano-mori Hospital in Miyanomori, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. The bear walked north and left the area; there were no injuries or reported damage, and a follow-up investigation by Sapporo city found no tracks or other traces.

At around 18:10 on March 26, 2026, a woman walking a dog spotted a brown bear about 1.5–2.0 m long on a municipal road in Miyano-mori 4-jo 12-chome, Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The bear crossed the road and entered a wooded area; tracks were found nearby and police are patrolling and urging caution.

At around 18:10 on March 26, a single brown bear was sighted crossing a road from the mountain side to the residential side in Miyanomori 4-jo, Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The bear was estimated at about 1.5–2.0 meters in length; there were no injuries, but footprints believed to be from a brown bear were found nearby. Police are patrolling the area and advising residents to be cautious.

At around 19:45 on November 10, 2025, one brown bear was sighted in a residential area at Miyanomori 2-jo 11-chome in Chuo Ward, Sapporo, and footprints about 11 cm wide were found on nearby snow-covered roads. Police and city officials responded; no injuries have been reported. Footprints and sightings were also recorded near Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaido Jingu on Nov 9–10, and authorities are treating it as possibly the same individual and maintaining precautions.

On 2025-11-10 at around 05:10, a bear-like animal about 1 meter long was spotted on the road near the third torii of Hokkaido Shrine in Sapporo's Chuo Ward; police responded and increased patrols. Footprints believed to be from a bear were found inside Maruyama Zoo the previous day, and nearby elementary and junior high schools were temporarily closed. No injuries were reported.
