On Wednesday, June 24, at around 7:45 a.m., a witness spotted one bear (approximately 50 cm in body length) in the Somenkita area of Kaminakura, Fukushima City. The bear headed toward the river to the north and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On 2025-11-06 at about 10:45, a passerby reported seeing a bear enter the grasses in Sakuramoto Kamimichida, and a woman in her 60s notified police. Nearby sightings included a bear in a persimmon tree and footprints suggesting an adult with two cubs; no injuries have been reported, but authorities captured two adult bears in traps and residents have installed electric fences.
