Taka No Kouen

While driving, I spotted a bear (1.5 m) in the rice fields. The bear then walked off to the west. Distance to the nearest residence: 300 m.

[Post] It was eating persimmons on a persimmon tree on the hill behind the house. About 10 m from the house; about 1 m long. When it was yelled at loudly, it climbed down and went into the brush.

A family group appeared to be eating something at the boundary between mountains and fields, but upon the engine noise from my car they moved into the mountains.

[Post] A cub was climbing a persimmon tree in the yard. When we shouted, it climbed down and ran north into the forest.

[Post] On the road toward Shimizu in Ishinomaki, a mother bear crossed the road in front of a car toward the hills, then ran a little ahead alongside the car and went up toward the hills from the place where Ishinomaki Shimizu’s water is coming out. The cub ran along the guardrail on the Omogawa River side but could not cross with the mother and remained by the guardrail.

Around 6:00 AM on October 10, saw a bear about the height of an adult woman.
