At around 19:20 on the 19th, a man in his 40s who was running spotted a single bear about 50 cm long on a sidewalk in Isecho, Kitaakita City. The nearest house was about 5 meters away; Akita Hokutaka High School and the Kitaakita City Hall are nearby, and the police have warned residents to be cautious.

At around 08:40 on May 8, a man in his 60s working in a field in Nukazawa Nakatani-chi, Tsuzureko, Kitaakita City, spotted a bear about 1.2 meters long. The nearest building was about 10 meters away; the Kitaakita Police patrolled by patrol car and warned residents.
