At around 11:21 AM on March 31, a driver spotted a seated bear about 60 cm long in the brush in Yamagata-aza Karabukuro, Inawashiro Town. No human injuries were reported; police are patrolling the area and urging caution.

According to the Fukushima Prefectural Police, at around 16:20 on March 30 a single bear was sighted in Yamagata Shindata (Yamagata Shindata), Inawashiro Town. A bear appearance was confirmed at the scene; there were no reports of injuries.

In Inawashiro Town (Yahata, Aza Kubobata) at around 14:30, a single bear about 0.3 m long was seen running through a fallow rice field and then entering the forest. Later the same day at 17:53 in Nishigo Village (Kumakura, Aza Kazefuki), an animal resembling a bear about 1 m long was observed crossing a village road.
