Spotted one bear approximately 2 km from the Oyuu Onsen area, about 2 years old. There was also a report of a sighting around the same time at a nearby river.

While traveling by car on a municipal road to Koma-no-Yu or Ōyu Onsen, I sighted one bear. (Body length over 1.5 m, weight nearly 100 kg)

A campsite guest at Ginzan-daira spotted one bear estimated to be over 1 m in body length about 50 m into the woods. Blank gunshots and signal flares were used to drive it away.
