Several times, the call of an Asian black bear (tsukinowaguma) was heard from below the observation deck cliff. The exact number is unknown, but because calls with different tones were resonating together, it seemed there were 2–3 bears.

On a mountain trail from the western slope of Mt. Hidōmaru toward north of Dan Kujō's cave, I observed a black bear-like animal running quickly along a valley about 10–15 meters ahead (about 1 meter in size?).
