At about 10:45 a.m., a single bear about 1.0 m long was seen in a rice field in Yamagata; at about 6:00 p.m., two bears about 60 cm long were seen on and at the base of a chestnut tree in a residential property in Mitsuwa. No human injuries were reported, and police are patrolling and issuing warnings.
