Around 18:10 on May 17, 2026, a man in his 30s from Noshiro City driving along National Route 7 in Noshiro-shi, Kaibuchi Aza Furuyabu, spotted one bear about 1 meter long. The bear crossed the road from south to north toward fields; the nearest building was about 10 meters away, and the police have issued a warning.
