At around 10:00 on April 10, 2026, a bear about 1 meter long was sighted in woodland along the Noumen Road Omouchi-Shirasawa Line in Kaminoborukidai, Omouchi, Odate City. On the same day, one bear was reported near Kawaguchi in Yurihonjo City, and a roughly 50 cm bear was seen in Nishinagano Noda, Kakunodate Town, Semboku City.

While driving, after turning left from Route 7 at Teranosawa and taking the Shakunai No Road, turning left at the T-junction 50 meters ahead, a cub about 60 cm ran in front. Following slowly from behind, the cub ran about 30 meters and disappeared into the shrub on the left.
