On Wednesday, June 24 at approximately 7:03 p.m., in the Yabari area of Shimogō Town on Prefectural Route Toaka-Eitomi, a witness (male in his 60s) who was driving eastbound on the road spotted one bear (about 1 m in length) lying on the roadway. The bear ran into the forested area to the north and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

Around 4:10 p.m. on October 31, on the Tosaka-Eto Tomagin Line near Takanoko-ka, a witness driving saw three bears crossing the road left-to-right: one about 1 m long, one about 50 cm long, and another one (50 cm). The bears then went into the mountains on the right.

Around 1 p.m. on October 31, on the Todaka-Futo Line in Hibara, a witness driving toward Shōg Village saw three bears crossing the road: one about 1 m long, two about 50 cm. The bears then went toward the mountains.
