Before 16:30 on May 2, a bear about 1 meter long was sighted beside a prefectural road in Higashiyama, Aga Town. It was about 160 meters from a residence; the sighting was confirmed by the Tsugawa police station.

Reported: A witness driving from the Fukushima Prefecture side observed a dark silhouette. To confirm it wasn’t a person, they slowed down; it was a cub about 1 meter tall. It rammed into a nearly stopped vehicle, so the driver drove away from the scene.
