Shortly after 18:00 on December 2, in Noda-machi 6-chome, Fukushima City, a man riding a bicycle called 119 saying he had been attacked by something like a bear. The man was conscious and able to speak; police say the injuries and scene suggest it may not have been a bear and are also investigating the possibility that he fell while riding.

Around 8:45 a.m. on July 30, in Yagita, Fukushima City, a male in his 70s driving west across the Yagita Bridge observed a bear about 1 m long running south along the riverbank about 100 m south of the vehicle.

Around 5:40 p.m. on July 28, on the Arakawa riverbank in Yagen-cho, Fukushima City, a city hall employee observed a bear about 1.2 m long entering the thicket along the riverbank.
