On Monday, June 8, at around 8:20 p.m., a witness (male in his 60s) sighted one bear (approximately 1 m in body length) on the roadway in Uchimach in Machinawazaka, Fukushima City. The bear subsequently left the area heading west.

According to police, at around 07:20 on the 3rd a single bear about 1 meter long was sighted on a road in Machiniwasaka Shinmachi, Fukushima City. No injuries or property damage have been reported, and police have notified the city and are conducting patrols near the scene.

At about 07:20 on December 3, 2025, a child spotted a bear about 1 meter long on a prefectural road in Machi Niwasaka, Fukushima City. The child returned home and then went to school with a guardian; Niwasaka Elementary School requested parents to provide drop-offs, and a nearby nursery suspended outdoor activities.
