At around 01:35 on May 8, 2026, a truck driver traveling on National Route 358 in Nakabata-cho, Nakado district, Kofu City, spotted a bear-like animal about 1 m long on the road. Around 07:00 on November 22, a driver witnessed an animal believed to be a bear about 1 meter long crossing the national road from east to west about 1 km north of the Usaguchi Tunnel in Usaguchi-cho, Kofu City.
