A nearby management office reported it to the police; city staff, police and hunters responded, and the city — marking its fourth sighting in 2026 — urged residents to carry bells or radios.

On November 18 a single bear was captured in a box trap set near Mizugatsuka Park in Suyama, Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The trap was installed on November 17 and the bear was found during a morning check around 07:00 on the 18th; no damage was confirmed in the area.
