At around 7:10 a.m. on April 18, 2026, a bear about 1.5 meters long was sighted on the riverbank at Kamizaike, Maego, Yokote City, Akita Prefecture by a woman in her 40s who was driving. According to the Yokote Police, the nearest house is about 20 meters away, and the police have warned residents to be cautious.

[Post] (11/11 post) Three bears, a mother and two cubs, crossed Route 107 and headed toward the railway. Near the railway are several houses and Yokote Seiryō High School. Note: There was a bear sighting in Yokote City Osawa area, but the exact sighting location is unknown, so this is an estimated location.
