After being sighted, the bear returned to the brush on the south side, and its subsequent movements are unknown.

The bear ran off to the west; its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On Sunday, June 7 at about 5:20 p.m., a witness (male) working in a field in Makizawa area, Ishiyama, Higashiyama-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, spotted one bear (about 1 meter in length) coming out of the forest to the south. The witness then scared the bear off with a bear-repellent firework he had; the bear turned its back on the witness and fled back into the forest.
