Around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, near Ashinakoutei, Odon-cho, Aizu-Wakamatsu City, an eyewitness (a male in his teens) saw a single bear resting on a tree at the sighting site (approximately 70 cm in body length). The bear's subsequent movements are unknown.

On January 29 (Thursday) at around 4:15 p.m., in Ashimaki area, Oto-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, a witness (woman in her 70s) saw one bear (about 1 m in length) walking near the sighting location. The bear then fled into the mountains to the east; its subsequent movements are unknown.

Around 12:10 PM on October 26, in Ashimaki area of Otama Town, Fukushima City, the witness (a man in his 50s) was at home and saw two bears (one about 1.2 m, the other about 0.8 m). Both bears fled to the south into the mountain forest; subsequent movements unknown.
