On Wednesday, June 10 at about 11:54 a.m., a witness spotted one bear (body length unknown) crossing a road in woodland in Funaba area, Aizumisato Town. It is unknown in which direction the bear ran after that.

At around 15:40 on April 14, in Funaba, Aizumisato Town, Fukushima Prefecture, a man driving a vehicle spotted a bear about 50 cm long climbing a tree. The bear later left the area; no human or property damage has been confirmed, and the police and Aizumisato town office are cooperating to patrol the area and warn residents.

On Tuesday, April 14 at approximately 3:40 p.m., in the Funaba area of Aizumisato Town, a witness (male in his 70s) observed one bear (about 50 cm in body length) climbing a tree while driving a vehicle. The bear’s subsequent movements are unknown.

At around 18:00 on the 6th, a single bear about 1 meter long was sighted in fields in Ōishi, Aizumisato Town; it later disappeared into the grass. No injuries or property damage were reported, and police patrolled the area by patrol car and warned residents to be cautious.
