Around 18:00 on the 11th, a resident found a bear in the kitchen of a private home in Takago Town, Kitakata City. The city set a box trap around 21:00 on the 11th, and on the morning of the 12th a bear about 50 cm long was caught in the trap; the household evacuated and there were no injuries.

Around 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, inside a private residence in Tanakajima, Kamigou-cho, Kitakata City, a witness (a man in his 50s) saw a bear about 50 cm in body length inside the home upon returning home. Subsequently, the bear did not move from inside the residence. At 8:45 AM on Thursday, February 12, it was captured. No human or property damage has been confirmed. Even in winter, bears are appearing. Do not leave attractants (vegetables, kitchen waste, etc.) around the residence, and ensure doors and windows are secure and conduct regular patrols of vacant houses and storerooms.

Around 18:00 on February 11, a resident in Takasato, Kitakata City found one bear occupying the kitchen of their house. Authorities set a trap and on the morning of the 12th captured a female bear about 70 cm long; there were no injuries.

Around 18:00, a resident found a single bear about 50 cm long near the kitchen of a house in Kamigo, Takago, Kitakata City. As of around 19:30–20:00 the bear remained inside the house; no injuries have been reported. Police are patrolling the area and city staff are responding.
