On Friday, May 1 at approximately 8:10 a.m., a witness driving a vehicle observed one bear (about 50 cm in body length) running along the roadside embankment in the Tanakamae Otsu area of Wadamé, Aizumisato Town. The bear subsequently left heading west.

At around 07:20 on the 25th, one bear was sighted in a rice field in Ooki Ueno, Aizubange Town, Fukushima Prefecture. The bear subsequently moved westward; no damage to people or property has been confirmed. Police are sharing information with related agencies and conducting patrols in the area.
