At around 06:00 on December 8, 2025, an employee at a ranch in Misawa, Tomakomai City found a sheep lying with its internal organs eaten after noticing a congregation of crows. The ranch had a fence about 1.5 meters high, but police suspect a bear jumped over the fence to enter and attack, and have stepped up vigilance.
