Around 21:45 on November 8, a group of high school students reported seeing a bear and hearing the sound of a tree breaking near the trailhead of Daikichi-yama in Uji (Uji Kosei). Prefectural police and city authorities searched but found no traces; the city has posted warnings, installed a sensor camera at the trail entrance, urged residents to avoid going out at night, and increased patrols.

Around 21:45 on November 8, a group of high school students reported seeing a bear on the south side of Kawahigashi Park in Uji Kōsai, Uji City; no traces were found. The Uji Police and city authorities have stepped up patrols and installed sensor cameras and warning signs to increase vigilance.
