Around 07:30 on December 17, 2025, a bear-like animal about 80 cm long was sighted near Route 36 (Saijin Pass) in Fufu, Nagatoro Town, Saitama. A single deer leg was found on the grounds of a local residence, raising the possibility it was attacked by a bear.
