Around 08:30 on October 5, 2025, near the shuttle bus stop for the observation platform in Ogi, Shirakawa Village, a 40-year-old Spanish male tourist was attacked from behind by a bear and suffered a minor abrasion to his right upper arm. The bear, estimated at about 1 meter long, fled the scene; the village has closed nearby roads and walking paths and issued warnings.

On the morning of October 5, 2025, in Shirakawa-go (Shirakawa Village), Gifu Prefecture, a male Spanish tourist in his 40s was attacked by a bear that emerged from the grass, suffering a minor injury to his right arm. The walkway to the observation point was closed until the 10th, and the shuttle bus to the observation point resumed service from the 7th.
