Before 11:00 on the 9th, one bear was sighted crossing a road in Sahara, Fukushima City. There were no reports of injuries.

At around 10:50 a.m. on the 9th, a male driver spotted one bear (about 1.5 m long) crossing the road in Takenomori, Sahara, Fukushima City. The bear left for nearby woodland afterwards, and no damage has been reported. Police are patrolling by cruiser and coordinating with Fukushima City Hall.

In a woodland in Sakuramoto, Fukushima City, before 9:30 a.m. on April 26, a man in his 50s who was collecting wild plants was attacked by a single bear about 1 meter long and suffered injuries to both legs, including a bite to his left foot. The bear left after the man resisted; he received treatment at a hospital and his life is not in danger. His wife was uninjured.

Around 06:30 on the 18th, a man in his 60s driving in Sakuramoto, Fukushima City, sighted one bear (about 1 meter long) in a persimmon tree. The bear later climbed down and fled north; there were no human or property damages. Police patrolled by patrol car and urged caution.

Around 2:00 PM on October 4, in Sawara, Take-no-Mori area, Fukushima City, a witness (woman) observed two bears (one about 50 cm, one about 30 cm) crossing from east to west across her yard.
