A single bear about 50 cm in body length was observed on a walnut tree, eating walnuts, near the fence at the boundary between the employee parking lot and the forest behind the Aganogawa Service Area (northbound) on the Ban-Etsu Expressway — approximately 30 m inside the forest from the fence — about 120 m from the Kumawatari settlement.
