At around 11:20 on December 16, 2025, a single bear about 50 cm long was spotted on the Ooshio River riverbed at Sekiya Daido-nishi, Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima, by a man driving a car. The bear's whereabouts afterward are unknown, and no damage or injuries have been reported.
