At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, a police officer patrolling within Akauki Aza Ishizukichi in Namie Town (within the difficult-to-return zone) observed a bear about 1.5 m long crossing in front of a police car while traveling on National Route 399 from Namie toward Iitate.
