On May 13, 2026, a roughly 1-meter-long bear was seen entering a warehouse near a private residence in Okuno, Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture. City wildlife officers checked the site but did not visually confirm the bear; by the May 14 inspection it was gone. The city warned residents as sightings in the city have increased (14 sightings in the current fiscal year as of May 11).
