On November 24 Uonuma City carried out an emergency cull allowing shooting and removed one bear that had been in a persimmon tree in Nakaya Shinden. The animal was dispatched shortly before 3:00 PM and measured about 0.7 meters in length. According to the prefecture, this was the 8th emergency shooting in the prefecture and the 2nd in Uonuma City.
