Around 15:45 on April 18, 2026, a man driving on National Route 114 in Hiruzone, Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, spotted a single bear about 1.5 meters long on the road. The bear left toward the mountains north of the road and no injuries or damage have been reported; police are patrolling the area in patrol cars and coordinating with Namie Town Hall.
