A single adult female Asian black bear wearing a GPS collar appeared in the Obatake district of Naka Town between the nights/early mornings of Nov 22–26; signs included eaten persimmons on vacant-property grounds, claw marks on tree bark, and feces. The collared bear was captured and fitted with the collar in mid-October and is reported as 122 cm long, 53 kg, and approximately 5 years old.
