Around 7:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, in the area within Baba-mae area, Kawaimachi, Kitakata City, an eyewitness (male in his 20s) was driving a vehicle when two bears were seen walking along the riverbank (one about 1 meter in length, another about 50 cm). The bears then ran off to the east.
