On Tuesday, June 23 at around 6:25 p.m., on a town road in the Shioniwa area of Ono Town, a female witness driving north on the road saw one animal believed to be a bear (about 1 m in body length) crossing the road from east to west. The animal then ran off toward the mountains to the west.
