Unnan’s latest black bear report came on April 29, 2026, when an adult bear was found on Kagami ga tani Bridge along Prefectural Route 269 in Fukano, Yoshida Town, at about 5:50 p.m. The activity has also been close to people’s routes in Kawai, Daito cho, where cubs and juveniles were reported along the road near Kawai Hakobuchi and up by Kawai Pass.
The busiest ground has been Kawai in Daito cho, with repeated sightings around the Tamayu Azumayama line, while Yoshida Town has also seen fresh reports in Fukano and Sogi, and Kisuki cho had a young bear near Haneuchi Bridge. The pace was strongest in July 2025 with 14 incidents, followed by November 2025 with 11, and Unnan has logged 80 black bear sightings overall.
