Rokunohe’s latest bear sign came on May 12, 2026, in Komatsugaoka 1 chome, where tracks were found in a field and the bear appeared to have been moving back and forth through it. That follows a run of sightings near Kaneya Industrial Park, Yonezawa Community Center in Shimoyoshida, and the former Fureai Shoyo kan area in Inuarase, showing bears lingering close to homes and working places.
The most active spots have been spread around Rokunohe, with repeated reports in Inuotose, Kodaira, Shimoyoshida, Kaneya, and other settled areas rather than deep in the hills. Activity has shown up most often in April 2026, when 3 incidents were reported, and the area has logged 46 black bear sightings overall.
