At around 00:30 on the 22nd, a single bear estimated at about 80 cm long was sighted on the road in Miharashi Hill 1-chome, Yamagata City; a passerby reported it to the police. The city is patrolling the surrounding area and issuing warnings by loudspeaker and leaflets, but the bear's whereabouts remain unknown.
