At around 05:50 on the 7th, a single bear approximately 0.5 meters long was sighted on a city road in Hikarigaoka, Fukushima City. The bear walked along the sidewalk and then entered the brush. Fukushima Medical University increased vehicle patrols nearby, and the university daycare suspended outdoor activities and moved outdoor trash bins indoors.
